Puglia Plate - Sgraffito Fish

Hand built in fine terracotta the plate is formed using an antique piece sourced in Puglia. The design is carefully carved into the leather hard clay using a technique called Sgraffito. A Italian engobe is then brushed into the surface with any excess carefully sponged away.

Made over several days, the process of pairing back the clay and refining edges and texture allow each piece to be entirely unique and embrace individual irregularities.
